KEY PERSONAL SKILLS
Innovation: Put into realisation many new ideas such as
the use of liquid crystals and a method to manufacture efficient low cost
solar cells using a simple lamination process and much more.
Problem-solving: Research into multidisciplinary scientific/patent
literature to identify and solve key-problems, design of experiments, optimisation
of processing and evaluation procedures.
Teamwork: Has supervised and taught Ph.D. students; collaborated
and published with scientists/technicians who often were experts in other
fields and based in different working groups, companies and countries; hosted
a monthly meeting of the solar energy-group (about 15 scientists) at the Cavendish
Laboratory to enhance work output.
IT/Internet: Design and promotion of two web sites comprising
over 70 pages one of which is used commercially with great success. Experience
with (hand) coding in HTML, DHTML, Javascript, Pascal, Assembler incl. Visual
Basic 5 as well as webdesign tools like Dreamweaver Ultradev 4 covering ASP,
Jscript, VBscript, SQL, Database (MS-Access) driven web sites, Fireworks 4,
Flash 4, Paintshop Pro 7, Photoshop etc.; MS networking using Windows 95/98/Me/2000
Presentation: Many oral presentations in front of a large
international audiences/conferences in various European countries.
Languages: German (mother tongue), English (fluent), Spanish
(basic knowledge).
ACHIEVEMENTS
Early involvement in the rapid development of a (now well funded) solar
cell start up (Nanosolar Inc.) which is about to revolutionise the solar cell
industry in the near future.
Over 20 refereed publications on organic solar cells in leading scientific
journals including Nature, Advanced Materials, Phys. Review. B and Solar Energy
Materials & Solar Cells.
Pioneered a technique for the fabrication of high efficiency solar cells
made of novel electronic components resulting in the filing of a world patent
(patent with Cambridge Display Technology, CDT). Several (pending) patents
with Nanosolar Inc.
Set up and manage a small profitable business

FURTHER INTERESTS
I believe in the enormous time and money saving power of mid and long term
optimization. I am very creative and practical in finding solutions which are
not short term - otherwise I feel ineffective and time is working against me.
Since I do things very passionately people around me tend to feel motivated
and positive.
The process of learning something new excites me and I seem to be equally good
at teaching which - I believe - is the highest form of learning. I would love
to be involved in teaching projects of all kinds e.g. developing/applying new
methodologies, learning software, teaching involving games, dance, sport etc.
Of course I also enjoy teaching specific skills such as solar energy basics,
science, problem solving, computer/software & related topics, Argentine
Tango, Salsa. I am also very eager to explore (and learn from) other cultures
and lifestyles. Please have a look at my homepage and don't hesitate contacting
me should you have a project/job
in mind that might fit my skills: www.SolarPassion.com
