Here are some of the deep sky images I have taken with my 8 inch reflector telescope (Meade LX90) with equatorial wedge. Paintshop (final processing, filtering). Location: Foster City near San Francisco, California.

M42 - the Orion Nebular is the central part of a larger cloud that stretches over several hundred light years and is 1600 light years away. Four young bright stars in the center heat up the surrounding gas clouds causing the nebular to emit light. M42 is a region of active star formation. It consists of a variety of different object types such as emission as well as reflection nebulae and multiple stars resulting in a wealth of colours and details.
